I second shot for my friend Lisa James for the fabulous Carmel Mission wedding of Christiane and Johnny. Christiane wore a beautiful princess gown, and the wind, preceding the storm we managed to dodge, played beautifully with her long veil. Here are a few of my favorites!

It was a cold and very windy day when Nicole and Matt tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at Serrano Country Club, but no cold wind could dampen the warmth and love during this beautiful day! Nicole was absolutely stunning in a form-fitting gown, and Matt was equally dapper in his tux. It was an intimate wedding filled with love, and I feel honored to have been able to document it! Congrats again, Nicole and Matt!

We headed up to Yosemite last weekend for a family and engagement session. We had expected spring-like weather, but with the rain storm hitting the Bay Area it translated into LOTS of snow falling in Yosemite! My brave couple Ariele and Kyle decided to go ahead with their session despite the temperamental weather, and they were such troopers as it started snowing just 20 minutes into our session! My colorful umbrella came in very handy, keeping the snow out of our eyes and lending a pop of color in the beautiful winter scenery. Here is a sneak-peek from their session!

Uganda’s Invisible Children

‘Kony 2012′ has been in the headlines recently with their viral video shining a spotlight on Joseph Kony, the Ugandan guerilla leader who terrorized northern Uganda for over two decades, kidnapping children and turning them into child soldiers and sex slaves, all in his pursuit to overturn the government and rule the country by the ten commandments. He hails himself to be a spiritual leader yet has one of the worst records of human rights violations, and is wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes.

In 2005 I traveled to Uganda to report on the issue, and saw with my own eyes the thousands of children who walked into Gulu every night for a safe place to sleep and to avoid capture by the LRA. I also visited several of the child soldier rehabilitation camps where former child soldiers and sex slaves arrived to receive therapy. The centers tried to ease the transition for the children back into ‘normal’ life after having been severely traumatized, and they had to relearn such basic habits as brushing their teeth.I spent a few days recording their lives in the rehabilitation camps, and interviewed several of the abductees.

She was left in the bush, and after spending the night there she walked out of the bush and came to the GUSCO rehabilitation center. While in the bush she served as a baby sitter for the wife of commander Odome .

Lindsay and Jensen’s fun engagement session!

Lindsay and Jensen were full of laughter and sweetness, and I had a ball photographing them and their very handsome doggie Kermit. Their wedding will take place at a farm that has been in Jensen’s family for a long time, and it was a photographer’s dream location! I am really looking forward to their June wedding.

Maggie and Joe got married in beautiful St. Catherine of Siena Church in Burlingame. Their reception was at beautiful Crystal Springs Golf Course Wedgewood Banquet and Banquet Center. Maggie was radiant in her beautiful gown, and Joe equally handsome. Together they made a gorgeous couple, and I had so much fun documenting their wedding!
